Actions Taken:

  • Immediate disciplinary measures: The individual involved has had their suspension extended and their internet access privileges permanently revoked.
  • Collaboration with the Talent Police Department: We are actively working with law enforcement to ensure all appropriate legal steps are followed and community safety is prioritized.
  • Collaboration with the District Board of Directors: The Board is reviewing the incident and evaluating current policies and aims to fast-track enhancements to strengthen safeguards and accountability.
  • Staff training and policy review: Additional training opportunities are being prioritized to reinforce awareness and ensure policies are consistently applied.

JCLS is committed to continuous improvement. In the coming weeks, we will conduct a comprehensive review of our policies and procedures, implement enhanced staff training, and seek additional technology safeguards to prevent similar incidents. We will keep the community informed as these measures are implemented. Your trust matters to us, and we are acting now to ensure our libraries remain safe, welcoming spaces.
