JCLS is happy to announce starting October 1st the Library of Things and Book Club in a Bag collections will be available as part of our main catalog! myTurn, the site that previously ran reservations for these items, will be permanently retired.
Library of Things
Patrons can now search for, request, and view checkout history for Things all within their library account or JCLS app. Requests for Library of Things items will change from reservations to holds. Patrons will request things by placing a hold in the same manner other library materials can be requested. Pro tip: Use the “Freeze Hold” button to keep your spot in the queue but activate your request close to the time you will need it.
Patrons who are 18 years and up with a Full Service, Organizational, Yearly Non-Resident, or At Home library card are eligible to borrow Library of Things items. Please note patrons will need to sign a waiver before checking these materials out.
Library of Things items will check out for 21 days, will be limited to 2 at a time, and will not be renewed.
Book Club Bags
Our library catalog software has a new booking feature that will be used to process Book Club Bag requests. This feature is still in development and currently only visible on the staff side of the catalog. For now, patrons will contact Medford Circulation staff with the specific title and dates a Book Club Bag is needed. Staff will make the booking and confirm by email. Bookings will not be visible on the holds page of your account. Instead, a booking confirmation note will appear at the top of your library account home page. Bookings can be made by emailing bookingrequests@jcls.org or calling 541-774-8690.
The Book Club Bags will check out for 42 days, will be limited to 2 at a time, and will not renew.
