Medford, OR (September 2, 2025) – September 1st marks the beginning of National Library Card Sign-Up Month!
Jackson County Library Services provides more than just books for checkout to our patrons – a library card also grants local patrons access to a wide variety of databases ranging from mechanical repairs to language learning, video games, movies through Kanopy, e-books through Libby, music through Hoopla… and so much more! JCLS also provides At-Home Services, DART, and Educational Resources to our community.
To celebrate this month, JCLS has released a new library card design created by local artist Adrian Chavez, known for his murals around downtown Medford. There is a limited number of new cards, so make sure to sign up or switch over before they’re out! To learn more about our new card design, check out JCLS’ YouTube documentary “Watch Me Imagine”. Follow Chavez through the process of creating the art concept by visiting jcls.org/library-card-month. Getting a library card is free, easy, and empowering. For students, it’s a key to academic success. For adults, it’s a gateway to lifelong learning. For everyone, it’s a smart way to stay connected to your community.
JCLS will also be attending the following community events where you can learn more:
-
Applegate Evening Market on September 10th, 17th, and 24th
-
Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market – September 11th, 18th, 25th
