First Discussion “What You Need to Know About Oregon Gun Laws” scheduled for December 6 

Ashland, Oregon (November 21, 2022) — Ashland Chief of Police Tighe O’Meara and Jackson County Commissioner Dave Dotterer will discuss gun laws in Oregon and what each community member should know on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00–5:30 p.m. at the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard. All are welcome to attend this free program. 

Since joining the Ashland Police Department in 2010, Chief O’Meara has served as a Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and as the Deputy Chief over both the Operations and Support divisions. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Police Executive Research Forum.  

Dave Dotterrer was elected to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners in 2020 and sworn into office in January 2021. Commissioner Dotterrer serves as Chair of the Board for 2022. He is also the Board liaison to the City Councils of Ashland, Central Point, Phoenix and Talent — and serves as the Board liaison to the Ashland Gun and Archery Club, Ashland YMCA, and several other local organizations.
