Medford, Oregon (February 22, 2022)—Popular teacher and speaker Joe Peterson presents the Windows in Time lecture “Hidden History: Backstories from Ashland and Medford History” on Wednesday, March 2 from 12 Noon–1:00 p.m. at the Medford Library, 205 South Central Avenue, and online via the Zoom video conferencing app. This program will also be screened at some library locations in addition to being available online; search “Watch With Us” to find a location near you. All are welcome to attend this free lecture; registration is required.

What could Lolita, Raggedy Ann, Tobacco Road, Lithia Auto Group, Camelot, mouse traps, a stolen election, a faith healer, a headless Lincoln, a 160-year-old cold case, and a “robber-Barron” possibly have in common? They all have Southern Oregon backstories which may surprise you.

Joe Peterson has taught history, political science, and education courses at Southern Oregon University and has written and managed Teaching American History federal grants for the Southern Oregon Education Service District in Medford. He is the author of four books including two on the history of Ashland.

Program registration can be found at jcls.libcal.com/calendar/jcls_event/WIT-Mar-2022. A recording of the program will later be made available on the Jackson County Library Services YouTube channel; subscribe at youtube.com/c/JCLSBeyond
