Storytimes
Little Ones, Big Stories — Join us for Storytime
Storytimes are more than just fun — they help little ones grow!
Through stories, songs, and play, children from birth to preschool build early literacy, social, and motor skills that prepare them for a lifetime of learning. Storytime also gives caregivers ideas for reading and playing together at home while connecting with other families in the community.
Storytime is More Than Just Fun
Each session is designed by librarians to support your child’s development — and to give caregivers simple, joyful ideas to try at home.

Early Literacy
Stories, songs, and rhymes build vocabulary, comprehension, print awareness, and a lifelong love of reading.

Brain & Motor Development
Movement and repetition support growing brains and bodies with patterns kids can predict and enjoy.

Social & Emotional Skills
Kids practice listening, sharing, and taking turns — and caregivers connect with other families.

Tips for Caregivers
Simple ideas to keep the fun going at home.
- Read together every day. Even 10 minutes makes a difference. Let kids choose the books!
- Talk and sing throughout the day. Describe what you see, hear, and do. Rhymes help with sounds and patterns.
- Play is learning. Blocks, puzzles, drawing, and pretend play build creativity and problem‑solving.
- Make the library your third place. Explore new books, attend events, and meet other families.
