In the Digital Services department at JCLS, we are always hard at work building the bridge across the Digital Divide in Jackson County. Our next, but not final, piece is the Connectivity Kit—complete with a Samsung Tablet, Bluetooth keyboard, and instructions on how to use both. We know that some folks in our community don’t have access to Wi-Fi, which is why we’ve ensured our tablets have cellular service to help you connect to the Internet even where broadband service is limited or nonexistent.
Included on the tablet is a collection of productivity apps: Zoom, LinkedIn, G-Suite, Microsoft Office, and more. So, whether you are looking for work or working on your homework, you will have the tools you need to make it happen.
Not feeling productive? Not to worry. Take a hike with the help of the AllTrails app, or find your next favorite restaurant with Google Maps. You can also get cozy with a book on Libby, new music on Hoopla, or a movie on Kanopy. We even offer a direct link to the JCLS catalog, if you want to browse the rest of our collection.
If you don’t find what you want, you can make app suggestions through the included survey.
Need help or just want to know more? Call or email the Digital Services team at 541-734-3990 or digitalservices@jcls.org.
When you’re ready to check one out, you can find it here in the JCLS catalog.
