Medford, OR (June 25, 2025) – With little-known stories and 40 images, Ashland historian Peter Finkle will share the incredible backstory of Ashland’s 1916 Butler-Perozzi Fountain in Lithia Park. Join us to discover how our humble Lithia Park fountain story includes European royalty, a 500-year-old Palazzo in Florence, Italy, an early 1900s Ashland creamery, and much more! You can attend in-person and online at the Medford Library on Wednesday, July 2 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. If you can’t attend the first lecture, another is happening the following Wednesday, July 9 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Ashland Library.
Peter Finkle shares Ashland secrets even locals don’t know about the city’s history, art, and neighborhoods through walking tours, community talks and the WalkAshland.com website. An Ashland resident since 1991, Peter writes for Ashland.news and other publications.
