Medford, OR (April 5, 2024) – Jackson Country Library Services is getting ready to celebrate National Library Week starting on Sunday, April 7 through Saturday, April 13. This week-long celebration is a great reminder of the many free resources and events offered through the library. To commemorate, JCLS has teamed up with local businesses and food trucks to offer fun activities and discounts!
JCLS is excited to reveal a new limited-edition Shakespeare themed-library card design to patrons in partnership with Oregon Shakespeare Festival! The card will be available at all 15 JCLS branches. Only 1,500 of these cards were produced. Branches will also have three different stickers for patrons to collect. 36 local businesses in downtown Medford are also participating in a sticker search that starts on the 7th. All you need to do is show your library card to any participating business and you will receive a special “Libraries Will Blow Your Mind” sticker.
A different exclusive “Your Brain is Hungry” sticker will be given out at participating food trucks around the valley! These trucks are working with JCLS to promote reading and higher literacy and will be offering a 10% discount to customers who present their library card when they order. The participating trucks are: Wok Star, Snoball Treats, Got Balls Meatball Truck, Toasted Cheese, Victory Dogs, La Duranguense Tacos y Más, Yummy Num Nums, Coco’s Tacos Taqueria, Mary Jane’s Bento, and Little Butte Donuts.
Finally, JCLS and the DART van will be attending the 71st Pear Blossom Parade in Medford on the last day of National Library Week, April 13! We can’t wait to kick off the fun and celebrate the week with you!
