Phoenix, OR (August 7, 2026) – The Phoenix Branch Library Pollinator Garden will open to the public after a ribbon cutting at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 20.
The inspiration for the garden came from a listening session in Phoenix held back in October 2022. The community expressed strong need for lost wildlife, insects, plants, trees, and other natural areas following the devastation of the 2020 Almeda Fire.
The Pollinator Garden covers 4,000 square feet of library grounds, featuring a rich variety of native, drought-resistant plants. Designed by local studio, Arkitek Design and Architecture assisted by Scharen Design Studio, and installed by Solid Ground Landscaping, the garden attracts and supports local pollinators crucial for maintaining a healthy ecosystem while using less water and conserving resources. Positioned in the heart of Phoenix, the library offers a perfect setting for this ecological, educational, and beautiful project.

The garden serves as a testament to our community’s resilience and commitment to sustainability while teaching the importance of pollinators in our environment and providing a view into the world of bees. The Phoenix Library anticipates increased class visits and regularly scheduled visits for adults with the installation of the garden.
