Judging will be based on:
Contestants are encouraged to take on the persona of their favorite superhero, comic-book/manga character, alter-ego, cosplay character, arch-nemesis—whatever fandom genre resonates with you.
Merit will be given to personally constructed costumes, as opposed to store-bought. This is to encourage creative expression and give credit to these makers, along with the time, energy, and determination it takes to create an other-worldly character
No costume repeats will be accepted.

Sign up on the day of competition will be at the Library Reading Area from opening until 1:30 p.m., or when the Waitlist is filled.
All contestants per category must arrive 30 minutes early for pre-lineup and inspection/mingling with the judges in the Medford Library Reading Room, east wall. Expect each group to take around 20 minutes to compete, with no more than 60 seconds per contestant on each day. Contestant winners will need to line up on the 'catwalk' at that time to receive awards and for photos.

No profanity, political or religious statements, including messages via signs or clothing. Not following these guidelines may lead to disqualification.

Costumes cannot endorse any form of real hate group.
Costume cannot depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law.
No Functional Weapons are allowed. Peace bound weapons that are props only will be accepted.
Participation in the Medford Comic Con Costume Contest indicates participant agreement for all guidelines herein. Photos and filming follow the Jackson County Library photography policy.
