Jackson County Library District seeks candidates for its Board of Directors. Two seats will be available on the ballot for the May 2021 election. The successful candidate will be sworn in at the July District Board meeting. The deadline for filing as a candidate is March 18 at 5:00 PM. Members of the District Board are the governing body for the special district create in 2014 to operate libraries of the county. The five-member board meets monthly in a public meeting. It sets budgets and policies for the operation of the libraries, sets the tax rate for the district, and it oversees the Library Director who is the chief operating officer for the 15 branch libraries in the county.
