Borrow an item from another library via ILL.

Interlibrary Loan is now available during Limited Services. Patrons with full-service cards may request two items at a time. Please note that processing time may be longer than normal and fulfillment of requests is dependent upon lending library availability.

Interlibrary Loan

If you can’t find an item in the library catalog, we may be able to borrow it for you via Interlibrary Loan (ILL), available to any JCLS patron with a full service card. The Library always attempts to borrow from libraries who lend free of charge. If the lending library charges for ILL, the Library must receive authorization that the patron requesting the item is willing to pay the charge before continuing to process the request.

For more information, contact your local branch or call the Interlibrary Loan Services Department at (541) 582-6211 or by email at ill@jcls.org.

Materials

All types of materials may be requested, but audio, video, and genealogy items may be difficult to borrow.

It may take two weeks or longer to receive the item, depending on the type of material.

You may place your ILL request online using the following online request forms or contacting the Interlibrary Loan Services Department at (541) 582-6211.

Interlibrary Loan Request Form for Books, Videos, or Audiobooks
Interlibrary Loan Request Form for Journal or Newspaper Articles

Paper forms are also available at all JCLS branches.

Policies

It is the patron's responsibility to pick-up and return ILL materials on time. Returns must be made in person at the circulation desk at any JCLS branch.

OVERDUE FINES WILL BE ASSESSED AT $1.00 PER DAY PER ITEM FROM THE DATE DUE.

Failure to adhere to Interlibrary Loan policies may result in the loss of ILL privileges and borrowing privileges within JCLS.
