While we do not provide curriculum materials, we have many resources to help you create your own lesson plans. There are many websites available to help homeschoolers; here are just a few:
- Homeschool World: This official website of Practical Homeschooling Magazine provides links to articles about a wide variety of homeschooling topics, hosts a forum, has a directory of organizations and much more.
- Secular Homeschool.com was created to provide information, resources, and a place to share and connect with secular homeschoolers across the world.
- Simple Homeschool: Whether you’re considering homeschooling, just getting started, or a veteran, at Simple Homeschool you’ll find tips, tools, and techniques to teach your children with confidence.
- National Home Education Research Institute: Non-profit clearinghouse for research on homeschooling.
- HomeworkSpot: HomeworkSpot is a great educational resource that features the very best K-12 homework-related sites.

Magazines
The following Homeschooling magazines are available at these branches or they may be sent to any branch for check out:
Home Education - Medford, Gold Hill, Jacksonville, Rogue River, and Ruch.
JCLS also has Children's magazines with themes of geography, history, education, and science. For a list of all magazines
contact your local library.
For articles about homeschooling use General OneFile, a magazine and newspaper database available on all library computers and from home at www.jcls.org. Full-text articles are available from many of the 2,500 publications indexed, including Time, Education Week, Parenting, Reading Teacher, etc.
To access General OneFile from the library homepage, select "Newspapers & Magazines" from the Reader's Corner tab, then click on the InfoTrac OneFile link and enter your topic.

Library Policy
The Jackson County Library policy which guides the selections of library materials states: " The public library does not serve as a curriculum materials resource, but rather functions to provide supplemental and enrichment materials for the children of Jackson County. "
We welcome your suggestions of books to add to the library within this policy guideline.

Southern Oregon Homeschool Group
The purpose of SOH is to provide a positive place to share homeschool information, resources, and material. Membership runs September-August and requires a $20 annual fee per family.
