Book Club in a Bag: Home

Welcome to the Jackson County Libraries reservation system for Book Club Kits.

What are they?

Bags filled with materials to be used by a book club.

Our reservation system, 'KitKeeper', makes it easy for our patrons to:

  • See what kits are in the system (cover image, description, etc.)
  • See when kits are available
  • Place multiple reservations for book club use over the next 6 months
  • Reserve a specific kit
  • Remember when the kit can be picked up
  • Remember when the kit is due back at the library

Each Book Club Bag, cataloged as a kit, will contain at least 10 copies of a single book, a check out sheet, author information, and suggested discussion questions. Some book bags contain two large print copies, an audiobook of the title, and some have a DVD of the book featured. There is a card on the bag listing the contents.

How long will they check-out?

You can check out a book bag kit for 6 weeks.  Unfortunately the book club bags cannot be renewed.

Book groups can now reserve their selected titles up to 6 months in advance using our KitKeeper tool.

The kits will be housed at the Medford Library, but listed in the catalog and available to all patrons.  The bags will be delivered to the patron’s local branch and returned there.  When checked-in, they will return to Medford Library if the kit is not on hold for another group.

The person who checks out the book club bag is responsible for the kit and the contents.  All items need to be returned at the same time in the bag.

Overdues –$2.00 a day per bag.

Let’s get started.  Click here to use the kitkeeper system for reserving a bag.

Thanks to the Friends of the Medford and Ashland libraries who have funded this program.
