Summer Reading isn't just for kids!  On Your Mark, Set, Read  - Exercise Your Mind

On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!  Exercise Your Mind

Adults (18+) who read or listen to 4 books over the summer, between June 13 and August 9th,  will be eligible to enter a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice.     

     In addition, each branch will award a local incentive of  books,  gift baskets or special treats from local merchants!

Tools to Help You Find  Your Next Favorite Book

Novelist: NoveList is the premiere database of reading recommendations available straight from the JCLS website!

NPR Books: NPR books provides a weekly review of new books and some classics

Goodreads: Tell Goodreads what titles or genres you’ve enjoyed in the past, and they’ll give you surprisingly insightful recommendations!

Fantastic Fiction: Fantastic Fiction is a great website when you want to look up an author’s collection of books, and it even lists the books of a series in order!

Literature Map: This read alike site gives you a visual map of suggested authors. The closer an author is to the central one you type in, the more alike they are!

Whichbook: Which Book is another fun site to play with as it helps you pick a book based on your mood!

What Should I Read Next?: This site lets you choose what type of story you want to read. The site requires a "sign in" which is free to set up.

Rated Reads: Rated Reads is a resource for those who don’t like excessive vulgar language, violence or explicit sex in their otherwise good book!

All About Romance: Love romance novels? This site provides honest, thoughtful and entertaining materials to provide an intelligent and diverse discussion about romance novels.

All Readers: This site classifies both fiction and nonfiction books based on plot, setting, character, and writing style.

What's Next?: This site allows you to find all the books in a particular series in order!
